A mixed use development of 16 lateral apartments and 4 duplex retail units in the heart of Mayfair. The existing Grade II listed buildings were converted from commercial to residential use with sensitive yet contemporary interventions within the existing fabric. The scheme also involves enhancements to the public realm, and was granted planning and listed buildings consent in May 2009. The new link block and glazed additions to the rear of two commercial buildings allow the original glazed brick and exposed steel lintels to become an integral part of the new interiors. These are defined as classic: embracing the original features of the building using traditional natural materials and finishes, or contemporary, incorporating more modern design and texture.
