Lanpro were engaged to work on the landscape Reserved Matters application and condition discharge for this housing project in Great Oakley, Essex. The existing Outline Planning layout was redesigned to incorporate new bespoke housetypes and to accommodate site factors including a large number of protected TPO trees and technical drainage considerations. The entrance to the site has a landscape buffer area with retained existing trees and new tree planting. The landscape design includes enhancements to the street scene with native trees and hedges. Variety between houses is provided in shrub and landscape planting, and new trees are proposed along boundaries with neighbouring gardens. Lanpro produced the technical design package for construction including soft and hard landscaping, working closely with the client to meet their expectations within budget. The materiality of the houses responds to the neighbouring dwellings and includes a palette of complementing bricks and tiles to provide interest. The project commenced on site in 2019 and was completed in 2020.
