Designed for an almshouse charity, this development provides eleven low energy, wheelchair accessible homes. Inspired by traditional almshouse arrangements interpreted for a modern way of life, the proposed homes are clustered around a central landscaped courtyard orientated to catch the sun. The communal, accessible and welcoming quadrangle helps support a feeling of security, neighbourliness and inclusivity.
