Solum Regeneration, building on the success of the Epsom project, commissioned Landolt + Brown to design a new station building as part of its ambitious proposals to deliver a major new mixed-use scheme over the railway tracks in Twickenham Town Centre. The project involves construction of a new raft over the railway, a new and much enlarged concourseand vertical access elements linking to the platforms and upgrade of the platform buildings as the major local benefit associated with the development. Landolt + Brown’s knowledge of the engineering issues associated with building around and above an operating railway has enabled the technical approvals for the project to run in parallel with public consultation and planning applications.
