Working closely with the Olympic Legacy team to develop a highly place-specific station building, new street and underpass as the central project in the regeneration of central Hackney Wick. The project adopted the engineering principles of a previous engineering-led design, but refined these to create something entirely unique, drawing references from the low, watery, reflective spaces under the Lee River bridges and using materials that are reminiscent of the river banks and industrial heritage of the area. The project gained planning consent in 2014 and is due to start on site later this year.
