This brownfield project comprises a total of 99 dwellings and represents the creation of a new high quality urban renewal project in the heart of Devonport, Plymouth. Extensive community participation led to a successful scheme; the streets and squares were designed to provide pedestrian priority, with a clear distinction of public and private spaces. The central space, modelled on a Georgian Circus creates a distinctive meeting place to bring returning residents and the emerging new community together. Locally sourced materials have been used where possible and attention has been given to energy efficiency.
