An efficient, flexible and sustainable office headquarters building which will be the first on the new 26ha Exeter Science Park at Junction 29 of the M5. LHC is responsible for the design of the first phase of buildings across the science park, which include the Science Park Centre, the headquarters for developers, Eagle One, and ultimately incubation units and a hotel. LHC has also been involved in the overall masterplanning and the sensitively designed public realm and the landscape surrounding the first phase. The 2-storey headquarters building is designed to meet BREEAM Excellent; is naturally ventilated; features a large balcony area which maximises the dramatic views and provides solar shading; and includes materials sympathetic to the local area such as local brick and oak lining to the balcony area.
