The breif was to take two existing warehouses in Shoreditch, one occupied by a photographers studio, and the other a furniture workshop, and seamlessly add an additional storey and a half to both. It is a testament to the quality of the matching with the existing fabric that a planner, when discussing another scheme in the courtyard and asked about the extension, was overheard to say 'oh no that has always has always been there'. The industrial aesthetic is followed through internally with exposed brick, steel starcases and crittall windows, new mezzanine levels and a glazed terrace .
