Situated in the idyllic location of rural Broughton, our clients purchased a small cottage adjacent to their existing residence. We were commissioned to link the two properties through a small courtyard garden, adding a two-storey extension to their existing home and fully renovating the cottage to provide additional accommodation. Clad in dark timber, the two-storey extension is clearly defined as a new, separate element, whilst creating continuity between the house and cottage through material and style. House 522 was shortlisted in the ‘Best Renovation / Extension Architect’ category at the 2019 Build It Awards.
