This striking two storey front extension in Awbridge has been designed to create a much more attractive approach to this family home. A more modern architectural language has been adopted for the extension, while the existing building has undergone a facelift to complement the new design. From early discussions with the clients we soon understood that they were excited about contemporary architecture and keen to experiment with materials, allowing us to incorporate ideas such as up and over timber roofs, intermingled with eternite tiled roofs, painted brickwork and hit and miss brickwork. The spaces inside are open, light and bright, however we have been conscious of overlooking and have incorporated various screening methods to maintain privacy.
