The new pools and sports complex for Bristol City Council consists of a 50x25m Pool with 10x20m Training pool. It also includes a Sports Hall, Fitness Suite, Studios and Climbing Wall. The building has achieved an excellent BREEAM rating and utilises 10% of its energy from renewable resources. Hengrove Leisure Centre is the first facility in the UK with a 50m swimming pool to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating. Hengrove Leisure Centre won the Civic Trust Award for ‘Best Community Building’ & it was named winner in the ‘Sustainability’ category at the Galvanizers Association Galvanizing Awards 2013.
