KTA successfully designed and completed a new medical and healthcare college in Plymouth. The new college was designed to accommodate 375 new students for young people aged 13 – 19 to prepare them for future careers in Medicine, Nursing, Health Sciences, Social Care and many more health-related careers. The new college facility is located on the site of the existing Stoke Damerel College and it was design to re-address the existing school frontage which was of relatively poor visual quality and lacked connectivity and context with the existing local streetscape. The proposals incorporated a new pedestrianised landscaped area to the south forming a welcoming and safe pedestrian entrance space to both the new facility and the existing school.
