Within a Conservation Area
This project involved converting a Victorian house in a conservation area back from 3 flats into a single family dwelling. The house has been extensively renovated to provide a five bedroom family home. Works included improvements to thermal performance, installing photo-voltaic and solar thermal panels and multi-fuel stove and installation of double-glazed windows throughout. The house has been made structurally sound in the course of the works, with the formation of a new internal double-height space at the rear of the living spaces, looking out over the new garden. This project shows how the Victorian housing stock can be successfully upgraded to cater for modern environmental and living requirements.
