Keith Williams' £13 million Unicorn Theatre was formally opened to the public by Lord Attenborough on 1 December 2005. This radical project, the result of a 5 year collaboration between Keith Williams Architects and the Unicorn team, is the most far reaching theatrical base for young people’s drama anywhere in the UK. It has been widely celebrated for its dramatic architecture and spaces, and the skilful handling of its complex formal programme on a very tight urban site. The 3,640 m2 building contains 2 theatres (340 seats and 120 seats), rehearsal and education studios, foyer, café and bar as well as back stage spaces including green room, dressing rooms and supporting spaces. Client Testimonial “We are immensely proud that Keith Williams and his colleagues have produced a building which not only looks excellent, but also works extremely well for both audiences and theatre employees”. Tony Graham : Chief Executive, Unicorn Theatre
