Dating to the Regency period, this beautiful house was formerly a pub and the signatures of the local drinkers are etched onto the old glass panes, and can be clearly seen. This Grade II Listed Building required a full renovation and upgrading to make it more energy efficient and comfortable. The cement render was removed and the elm frame repaired, with breathable insulation being inserted between and over the framework. The walls were then timber lathed and lime plastered with the ashlar block pargetting pattern. The floors were insulated and under-floor heating was run throughout the ground floor. Low temperature radiators were fitted upstairs. A new air source heat pump system was installed to replace the oil system, and photovoltaic panels where hidden in the double valley roof. All the services were upgraded, and walls were painted and papered with natural/breathable paints and wallpaper pastes. Folding shutters were designed and fitted to all the sashes. A new Georgian staircase inserted into the Entrance Hall. Finally we designed the new Kitchen and Bathrooms working closely with the owners on the choice of fittings and finishes for each room to create a really delightful home.
