Located in Mornington Crescent, this Camden Grade II listed house project involved a complete internal remodelling and the addition of a contemporary two-storey rear extension. Forming part of a historic Georgian terrace built between 1821 and 1832, the building holds significant heritage value as a key component of the Camden Town Conservation Area. The architectural proposals reconfigured the internal layout to create more practical, efficient, and light-filled rooms that dramatically enhance the overall quality of space. Built between 1821–1832, this Grade II listed Georgian home was originally designed as a grand single-family residence facing open fields. The arrival of the Euston railway shifted the neighbourhood’s character, leading to its conversion into flats and a 1970s alteration that stripped away its historic outbuilding, leaving the property in long-term disrepair. To expand the home’s footprint, a new two-storey rear extension was constructed across the lower ground and ground floors. Clad in brickwork with large glazed openings, the addition establishes a direct physical and visual connection to the rear garden. The lower ground level of the extension is sunken below the main garden line, keeping its visual impact minimal. Partially concealed by existing party walls, the structure reads as a simple, single-storey addition from primary views, respecting the character and scale of the listed facade.
