A new build replacement for a cottage suffering from subsidence and degraded fabric. The new layout sensitively optimises long views to the Malvern Hills and re-establishes the relationship with the garden through large glazed screens. Herefordshire sandstone from the original cottage is re-used. A combination of air source heat pump, solar PV panels and a woodburning stove provide a semi-autonomous and sustainable energy strategy for this remote site.
