The Peacehaven Big Parks Project is a mixed-use complex of buildings conceived as part of a wider landscape masterplan. The building works include the conversion of the former parks workshop into a new cafe and archaeological interpretation centre, facing onto the new park. The cafe has many highly sustainable elements from materials to services strategy. Some features of the building include locally sourced sweet chestnut cladding, biomass heating, PV and solar thermal panels. Across the hub there are improvements to wayfinding for the Community Building, Football Club and Bowling Green utilising timber screen wall with interpretative graphics. Large glazed sliding screens open up the view into the new re-landscaped sports hub area.
