Our Planning Regeneration Framework for Liverpool City Council brings forward ambitious plans for regenerating 56 acres of one of the city’s most strategically vital economic areas. Upper Central is a fulcrum point for the city centre’s activities, connecting the main transportation, commerce, education and leisure zones. In recent decades, the area surrounding Liverpool Lime Street mainline station has become a neglected somewhat disconnected hinterland. Alongside planning specialists Avison Young, K2 led the urban design of the framework, unlocking 2.5 million ft² of sustainable development that will potentially create 7000 jobs ranging from sci-tech to creative and marketing. A vital piece of this strategy includes improved connectivity through world-class public realm and urban infrastructure.
