A radical refurbishment of one of the country’s original alternative-theatres aims to secure the long-term economic sustainability of a vital national treasure. A cornerstone of the UK's social and political radicalism movement, the venue continues to champion and produce small-scale cutting-edge work by inspirational creatives, serving as a counterpoint for the mainstream arts. Our creative approach to consultation enabled Unity’s core supporters real-time engagement with the design development, ensuring their full support during a critical time of transition. The comprehensive refurbishment allows Unity the opportunity to perform to audiences of up to 250 across two auditoriums supported by rehearsal space, conference facilities, meeting space, a bar and lecture rooms.
