Alteration to existing property
This is a recent commission, whereby the Client approached the RIBA to provide them a list of local Chartered Architect's for consideration to remodel and redesign and property that they were anticipating on purchasing during 2020. I was pleasantly pleased to hear from RIBA, who provide a comprehensive background regarding the employment of an Architect and the importance of that special relation between a Client and their Architect. The Client had undertaken their due diligence and having learnt more about my work and my approach, commissioned me to re-design their now acquired 1930's new home. My Client's are a great admirer's of art and in particular the Art Nouveau movement and design period, which they wanted to emanate. Having interrupted their brief, which was to provide for a new master suite within the existing loft space and extend the property both at the side and rear as single storeys to provide for a new modern larger family dwelling, I produced a feasibility plan which was immediately accepted and was soon requested to produce sketch proposals following the feasibility plan sign-off. I produced several innocent sketches illustrating my thought process and again, with no hesitation the Client approved the sketches to produce and submit the planning applications.
