The practice worked very closely with the Trust to get this project off the ground. There was a long lead in time when Julian Owen was actively in consulting the community, working with volunteers, investigating traditional building techniques, engaging with the Heritage Lottery Fund and assisting with the bid preparation. The centre consists of an exhibition area, community garden, meeting rooms, cafe and shop. The front of the building is designed to look as close to its original appearance in the early 1800's as possible, with a contemporary design opening out the building into the garden at the rear.
