A four phase project to upgrade an existing 1970's Area Command Station. The first stage included a major feasibility study of the existing mechanical and electrical services installation and a condition survey of the interior and exterior of the building. Subsequent stages were; construct a Major Incident Suite (first in UK), value £250,000; upgrade existing boiler installation including associated electrical controls, value £145,000; completely strip out and replace all M&E services, upgrade cell block and custody suite, charge area and front office, replace existing sealed windows with openable units, update all IT and data systems, and replace the existing roof, value £1,024,000. All work being completed while the Station remains operational.
