Jestico + Whiles and Julian Harrap Architects are remodelling Pitzhanger Manor, which was Sir John Soane’s country villa. The Grade I listed villa sits within its former grounds now known as Walpole Park. The house will be fully restored to its early nineteenth century glory, including the reinstatement of the original conservatory and roof light. The adjacent 1939 library building will be fully refurbished as a contemporary art gallery, serving as the main entrance to the museum and gallery, and providing visitor’s facilities such as toilets and shop. A new single storey café and events building will be constructed in the Manor’s walled kitchen garden, fronting onto Ealing Green.
