The Tanneries is an affordable housing development built on the site of a former leather works in Stratford, London Borough of Newham close to the London 2012 Olympic Park. The concept, originally developed by Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners follows the style of their Oxley Woods development in Milton Keynes. Working with HG Construction, we developed the planning scheme to suit a timber frame construction methodology, allowing for a large element of off-site prefabrication and a fast, efficient construction programme.
