An ultra-minimalist glazed dining room to replace a dilapidated and out of scale timber conservatory at the rear of a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse with spectacular views across the river valley. Over 70% of the fully-glazed doors can be folded back to enable the room to be opened up for summer dining. The support posts and beams are all clad in mirror-polished stainless steel whose reflectivity enhances the apparent lightness of the structure. Newly configured steps and terraces formed using open-jointed York stone create a variety of spaces around and below the conservatory for reading, eating, lounging and entertaining.
