The site was occupied by St Johns Church Hall and a vacant former Schoolmasters House.The design proposed the refurbishment of the existing buildings to provide updated facilities for the Community of Buglawton and to enhance and conserve the historic nature of the site. The design has been developed with the following design parameters : Listed Building and Conservation requirements. With the reconfiguration of the circulation space we provided the most appropriate layout.Internally to the Church Hall we removed the ground floor w.c and kitchen to provide new larger kitchen area with storage and disabled w.c.A mezzanine floor level was constructed over the kitchen area. Externally, a new glazed link was built towards the centre of the site, at the rear of both buildings to connect the two buildings and provide safe and dry access between the Church Hall and w.c facilities in the Schoolmasters House.
