The design for this single storey beach pavilion was inspired by the idea of a picnic on the beach under a large sun shade; the folding glass walls can be cleared away to allow a completely unobstructed view both inland and out to sea along with a cool sea breeze. At the same time the pavilion has been designed to suit all weather conditions and the occupants can enjoy quiet comfort in the midst of winter storms and tornadoes. The remainder of the scheme takes a courtyard form with three bedrooms and other accommodation enclosing a simple walled shrub garden.
