James Dale Architects transformed Brooke Road into a light-filled, contemporary family home. The traditional cellular plan was opened up with a side extension, creating a generous kitchen and living area connected to the garden through wide glazed doors and a striking oriel window seat. A refurbished front snug retains the home’s traditional character, while industrial steel doors link old and new. White encaustic tiles define the kitchen, with bespoke pink terrazzo tiles extending into the garden. Externally, green H & E Smith tiles and restored brickwork replace dated finishes, giving the home rich colour, texture and warmth.
