Triangle Estate, which comprises of three 1960s designed blocks, has been dogged for many years by anti-social behaviour, particularly in the open spaces between the blocks. When Islington Architects carried out an option appraisal for the estate, the preferred option that emerged from intensive consultation involved the demolition of a raised podium at the centre of the estate, and its replacement with a secure communal garden. The design involves intricate stitching of new buildings into the fabric of the existing estate, and the re-orientation of existing buildings so that they present a coherent frontage to the street.
