Built on the site of a derelict single storey office building, Lyon House provides dwellings for council tenants aged 55 and over. The client’s objective was to encourage residents currently under-occupying council property to downsize. The block is designed around a landscaped communal garden, and each flat has a large open plan living space, leading onto a full width balcony. The facades are designed to reflect the openness and generous proportions of the interiors. Shortlisted for Housing Design Award 2016
