When the solution to a long and narrow plot becomes a discussion on post covid habitation of a dwelling Initially, the site appeared too constrained to accommodate a viable home—long, narrow, and height-restricted. The breakthrough came in breaking the house into three distinct volumes, each echoing the modest scale and massing of surrounding outbuildings and garages. This approach allowed the design to sit comfortably within its context, creating a 90sqm home with no greater visual impact than a typical collection of domestic structures. Beyond responding to spatial limitations, this tripartite layout also offered a timely architectural response to contemporary living: separating the core functions of sleep, live, and work into distinct zones. This spatial separation provides not only practical flexibility but also a more balanced and mentally supportive living environment—particularly important in a post-COVID world where homes must serve multiple roles.?
