The client is a collector of 30's fittings and this 1760's house in Camden Passage is refurbished to be a setting for these. The entire 4 storey stair wall is replaced with a curved wall of glass blocks and a screen of vertical stainless steel rods runs through the centre of the stair as a balustrade. A new kitchen, bathrooms, WC's and terrace balustrade are installed in a 30's/modern approach and materials: a simple geometry with mosaic, granite, vitrilite, bamboo and lacquered mdf surfaces. The latticed glazed doors, internal window shutters and radiators and glass block infill panels give a gridded background to the fabulous mirrors, light fittings, original poster artwork and furniture of the interior.
