In partnership with Barratt, IDP are progressing the detailed design of this 850 unit residential regeneration masterplan. A timeline approach to the design creates a legible character incorporating regency style crescents, traditional vernacular lanes and an elegantly simple contemporary enclave. With an aspiration to deliver a zero carbon enclave, this development has high sustainability ambitions including a biomass fuelled combined heat and power centre providing energy for the entire development. The design has been developed through a public consultation and steering group process which includes The Princes Foundation advising on approaches to vernacular design and traditional urbanism. The site is also technically challenging due to its steeply sloping topography.
