Listed Building - Grade II
Consultant architect to Waterperry Estate, major projects as follows; New staircase and renovated entrance hall- the insertion of a new stainless steel, glass and elm staircase within an existing 3 storey space within the Grade II Listed building, supplemented by a glass bridge at first floor level. The space was also richly decorated with fresco paintings. External stone repair- work to upgrade and restore the external fabric of the Grade II Listed Georgian House, repairs were carried out to large areas of carved stone work that had suffered the effects of weathering over the years, the works also included rectifying previous unsympathetic repairs. New Elizabethan Wing- a new single storey residential wing. It was located behind two existing Listed walls to reduce its impact on the adjoining historic gardens. Lift and Kitchen Alterations- Designed to improve circulation in the house. The lift was installed at the rear of the property following close consultation with the Conservation Officer and English Heritage. A new circulation hub was also formed at ground floor level by the introduction of a new external terrace and lobby area. Amphitheatre works and new Public W.C's- the completion of an amphitheatre in the grounds of the house, which is set against a restored Grade II Listed bridge. In addition to the replacement of an existing dilapidated W.C block with a more sympathetic modern facility. Biomass Boiler - in conjunction with Services Engineers. The construction of a new wood chip biomass boiler to service the heating requirements of the entire estate; including the main house, church, estate cottages and out buildings.
