iArch advised CWL Housing, a provider of affordable sheltered accommodation, on funding and development strategies, and produced a briefing document based on CWL's specific operational and business needs. A number of potential sites were identified, and introductions were facilitated to site owners and development partners, including Dove Jeffery Homes. These introductions have led to a joint venture development of a site at Heath Close, Billericay, with iArch acting as client advisor to CWL and architect / masterplanner for both Dove Jeffery and CWL. The masterplan breaks down the scale of the development into distinct zones clustered around differentiated areas of high quality communal landscaping, achieving a highly efficient use of a constrained green belt site with a strong identity. The design of several typical house types and the CWL sheltered housing has been progressed with significant technical input from the developers, maximising the efficiency of construction with no compromise to architectural quality.
