IBA were initially commissioned to undertake feasibility and space planning services to determine if all the staff and facilities of ITV Yorkshire could be relocated into the west wing of the existing Television Centre, a 32,500sq. ft two storey 1960's building. Having provided the Client with several options within the budget constraints, IBA were commissioned to refurbish the building to provide modern, highly serviced open plan office accommodation together with a new Television News Studio, Edit Suites and other associated technical areas. The redevelopment provided accommodation for 250 people with over 12 different departments over two floors, together with meeting rooms, hot desks and tea points. Exacting standards of acoustic separation were required in many sensitive areas together with large demands for comfort cooling. ITV also required their extensive technical fit out to be undertaken concurrently with the construction works and IBA co-ordinated these works. The project was completed on time and within budget to enable ITV to go ‘live’ on 12th September 2012
