Tree lined Avenue Road in St Johns Wood is typified by large villas set in generous gardens. HUB gained approval to demolish a 20th Century house on Avenue Road NW8 and have designed a replacement villa with a grand Georgian style exterior and modern luxurious interior. As well as a full width reception room overlooking the garden, the client wanted a large family living room in the lower ground floor. We sited a large patio space adjacent to this room to flood this level with light, and provide a direct connection with the garden. The brief also included a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and cinema along with 6 bedrooms and ancillary domestic staff quarters.
