This project saw a redundant rural barn within the grounds of a private home converted into new luxury bed and breakfast accommodation, near Lancaster. The development features 11 stylish guest bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, along with a communal dining space and garden terrace. Our design for the scheme made use of existing openings in the barn, thus retaining as much of the original fabric of the building as possible. Natural stone and slate were used to match the original materials. The building has level thresholds to both the front and rear entrances providing wheelchair access, including a fully accessible ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The project also involved extensive landscaping, including new stone walls to improve the appearance of the curtilage and boundaries.
