This project involves the complete internal overhaul of a Grade II listed villa on Addison Avenue in Holland Park and a rear ground floor extension. An extensive suite of internal changes is proposed as well as the demolition of an existing rear conservatory and replacement with a more substantial masonry structure that takes its design cues and details from the existing historic building. There were significant restrictions on the height and size of the extension which required delicate negotiation with the Local Authority. At roof level the existing small former extensions and flat roof were removed entirely and new, larger dormers and a higher flat roof were fitted, all within the the envelope of the permitted proposals.
