Holmes Miller led the design and delivery of Meadowbank Sports Centre for City of Edinburgh Council, as a replacement for the Meadowbank Stadium. The 15,000m2 facility combines Elite and Community Programmes with internal and external sports facilities. The challenge involved a constrained site, culminating in an 85m Indoor Hall for Athletics, supporting 8/4 court Games Halls, Gymnasium, Studios, Martial Arts Dojo, a new office for Edinburgh Leisure HQ and more. External facilities encompass a 400m track and two 3G football pitches. The scheme is futureproofed to connect to a district heating system and integrated into the city's Green Travel Plan.
