The Allander Leisure Centre had been a recreational community hub for East Dunbartonshire for over 40 years. For a similarly long time, Kelvinbank Resource Centre in Kirkintilloch had been providing daycare services for adults with learning challenges, mental and physical disabilities. The new Allander seeks to bring these institutions together and provide an environment that serves the public with modern, state of the art facilities. It will also provide a stimulating environment which delivers the experiences necessary to care for people with various conditions. Both aspects are designed in conjunction to enhance the health and wellbeing of the community.
