Hodgkinson Design have changed a 3,500 sqft building into a circa 9,000 sqft state of the art home. This large family house required a substantial redevelopment and only two of the original external walls remained standing, the rest was rebuilt and extended. A poor-quality conservatory had been built at the back of the house, ill-keeping with the existing. Our elevations brought the house back into cohesion, to read as one building and be appreciated for its style and scale. The architecture of the area is Arts and Crafts and Hampstead Garden Trust required tightly drawn planning. The hub of the house is the central 4 storey timber staircase which connects the top 2 bedroom floors with the basement and ground floor living and entertaining spaces. The spacious basement swimming pool, cinema and bar all lead off the new hall. Designed using high-quality materials and incorporating the latest technology, the building is efficient and adaptable. The living spaces have a traditional flair, in keeping with the client’s wishes.
