Listed Building - Grade II
The Nook, Simmonds Place , Kingsmill Industrial Estate , Saunders Way , Cullompton , Devon , EX15 1BS , United Kingdom
Extensive reordering and internal renovations of a Grade II listed church in Plymouth, primarily to create a contemporary and vibrant sacred space whilst allowing community activities to take place alongside sacramental worship. Our role involved extensive Community and Stakeholder consultation. We assisted with the applications for Heritage Lottery Funding and obtaining faculty approval from Diocesan Advisory Committee. The main worship space is light and airy, providing a contemporary setting for worship and community in the 21st century. The Client said: "hmad | architects was engaged by our Parochial Church Council in 2007 to undertake a major internal re-ordering of our parish church. We now have one of the most stunning interiors of any church in the West Country and perhaps beyond. It is greatly admired by all who enter the building."
