The brief by Hull Citycare was for a Health Centre and office building to fit within a prominent location at the heart of the city centre and form part of the Albion Square development plan. The richness and heritage evidenced by the site studies warranted a proposal which speaks of the wider context and integrates the site and the city. The departments within the health centre will be stacked on a floor by floor basis around a central atrium. This will allow for a centralised reception at ground floor level, with more intimate sub-waiting areas and receptions within each individual department.
