The Wave is a 16,600sqm building for the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Sheffield, designed to meet future growth demands to the year 2035 and provide a world class, highly sustainable environment that encourages collaboration and enhances the faculty’s reputation for excellence in teaching and research. Existing faculty facilities were spilt across 18 buildings hindering collaborative research and the sense of faculty identity. With the expectation to provide a world-class facility ever more important in a competitive global marketplace, the decision was therefore made to create a social sciences mini campus with The Wave at its heart. HLM were Lead Designers, Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects.
