A new 3,000sq ft. in Stockgrove Park was designed in place of an existing dilapidated glass Orangery structure. the form and scale had to adhere to the previous orangery, however Hinton Cook derived a solution to maximise the are by virtue of introducing a lower ground floor by cutting into the topography Ample south facing glass ensures seamless views onto landscaped gardens and minimises overheating by creating deep overhung roofscape The dwelling is equipped with integrated solar photovoltaic tiles and an air source heat pump thus generating a level of renewable energy on site The project consequently won an AVDC design award
