This modest holiday dwelling is set in a private garden with mature trees on the boundary between Lymington and the New Forest. The idea was to create an outward looking dwelling, so that space is more defined by the perimeter of the secluded garden rather than the modest seize single room. The construction is super insulated balloon frame, clad in split cedar shingles. A cast iron wood burner provides the heating. The house has been built to be flood resistant.
