The two-storey structure takes an L-shaped form stepping down the site to follow the contours of the land, with open plan layouts providing views through to the south facing back garden from the front. The primary block of the house is constructed in a local red facing brick, whilst curved timber clad elements project beyond the main body of the house in continuous ribbons. Large, glazed openings ensure that the internal spaces are filled with natural light whilst making the most of views into the garden. Hayward Smart undertook the design of the feature steel, glass and oak staircase, bespoke joinery and furniture and detailed bathroom design to ensure a holistic vision for the property was realised.
