The Livity School is a Special Needs, Primary School in South London, educating children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Given the tight site, unusually for an SEN school the building is on three floors with an “upside down” approach, with the Early Years classrooms on the top floor with their own dedicated play space on the roof. Other solutions to make the most of the external space were also introduced including ‘15 min’ terraces on the first floor and cantilevering to create more space and provide covered play space at ground level.
